Jennifer Walshe
wurde 1974 in Dublin, Irland geboren.
nach Kompositionsstudien mit Jahn Maxwell Geddes und Kevin Volans, setzte sie ihre Ausbildung bei Michael Pisaro
und Amnon Wolman an der Northwestern University in Chicago fort
Walshe hat sich auf eine experimentelle, oft auch improvisatorische Erkundung instrumentaler und auch
stimmlicher Möglichkeiten konzentriert, meist fungiert sie selbst als Interpretin.
Ihr Œuvre unfasst vor allem Werke für Ensemble, jedoch auch szenische Kompositionen, beispielsweise
die 2003 in Wien uraufgeführte "Barbie-Oper" XXX-LIVE-NUDE-GIRL5!!!
Jennifer Walshe war Stipendiatin der Akademie Schloss Solitude (2003/04)
und des Berliner Künstlerprogramms des DAAD (2004/5)
